January 13th: Atrium Allegro
At Atrium, we explore music and the way music intersects with other subjects, in particular, math and language. Every day we uncover shared fundamental concepts using multiple representations, a variety of instruments, and lots of singing to increase musical literacy.
We will sing and play–on bells and other percussion instruments–Hot Cross Buns, Twinkle Twinkle, and other favorites with Atrium's own Music Director, Beatrice Affron. You and your children will discover how easy it is to read music in a variety of representations, including–of all things–plastic cups! Before you know it, you and your children will invent your own musical notations that you can manipulate to create and vary your own songs.
